Special Use Committee Public Hearing – Proposed Amendment to Solar Ordinance

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO COUNTY SOLAR ORDINANCE

Notice is hereby given that the Fayette County Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 6:20 p.m.at the Vandalia City Hall, 431 W Gallatin St, Vandalia, Illinois. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments regarding proposed amendments to the Fayette County Solar Ordinance governing commercial solar energy facilities in the unincorporated areas of Fayette County, Illinois. The proposed amendments may include standards for siting, application requirements, public hearing procedures, setbacks, fencing, vegetative screening, drainage, road use, decommissioning, financial assurance, building permits, fees, and related requirements for commercial solar energy facilities. A copy of the proposed ordinance amendment is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during regular business hours and may also be available on the County website. All interested persons may attend and be heard. Dated this 11th day of May, 2026.
